Background
The Genomic Information Commons (GIC) was founded through initial investments by Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH), Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) in the Genomics Research and Innovation Network (GRIN). GIC development has expanded through a Cooperative Agreement award from the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS). The GIC has since scaled to modularly add Washington University at St. Louis (WUSTL), University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), Riley Hospital for Children (RHC), Rady Children's Hospital San Diego (RCHSD), and Le Bonheur Children's Hospital (LBCH) at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC).
